I have an older car (98 Toyota Corolla) with low mileage (72k), and I plan on driving this car to the death... with only the occasional upkeep. With that plan, I need a good mechanic who is in it for the long haul. I moved to this side of town 2.5 years ago and after a scary-bad experience with another mechanic I tried these guys primarily because of the location and AAA rating. Glad I did. They've done my 60k-mile inspection, front-end alignment, replaced both internal front-door handles, oil changes, and found & fixed an oil leak. Are these guys the cheapest in town, no. But they are friendly, helpfully informative, and do a wide range of quality work for a reasonable price and in a reasonable timeframe. And even though City Garage is a chain, at least this location has the feel of the neighborhood mom-and-pop garage. I believe in rewarding companies who do good work thus 4 of the above 5 stars. The fifth star is for always having service discount coupons on their website AND a local shuttle service from and to the garage--a lifesaver when you are a single-car household.

I *love* these guys! They always make the stress of car trouble less miserable.They are honest and direct. They have no interest in trying to convince people to have a ton of work done that they don't really need. I've had several conversations with them in which I have asked something like: "Tell me how long I really have on this problems." While other mechanics may respond that it needs to be done immediately, the guys at City Garage will only tell you that if it is absolutely true. Not only are they honest, but also they are incredibly accomodating. If I know that I will need some work on my car that may require them to order a part, I will call the day before and tell them what I need. They can make the phone call to have what I need available so that I don't have to wait all day at their shop. Their prices are reasonable, and the work is stellar. I have been a customer of this particular location for almost ten years. I actually don't freak when something is wrong with my car because I know that they won't take advantage of my situation. Finally, even though I am a woman, I do know a bit about cars. Never once have the staff at City Garage treated me like I am a clueless girl -- an experience that I have had at other shops. Unfortunately, I have also had some experience with highly dishonest business owners from all types of businesses. However, I know that I can trust the owners, managers, and staff of City Garage.

A year ago I had a service done w/ recommendations for other work that I decided to wait on. Just went back in to get one of the recommended services done and they still had it in their system. They did great work and it is under warranty for two years and no pressure to get a bunch of other things done. They were very nice. I will for sure take my vehicle back as needed!

The guys who work seem to be pretty good. They helped me out with my vehicle. the problem that I have seen is that they seem to get backed up, meaning they have work order for the day that people come in and are not able always able to help that day. I am not sure if that is a testament to the quality of work they are doing or what not. They have been good and I can't really complain because all my vehicles are running perfectly.

I went here on a Saturday and these guys were FAST, considering this is probably they're busiest day. The manager, Jerry, helped us out. I took my car in for a brake job. Now, they were squeaking for awhile, and I was really worried about just how much we'd end up dropping. Turns out, I needed new rotors - the brake pads weren't totally the issue. Jerry recommended the new rotors, and also cleaning and flushing the rear brake system. We ended up just doing the rotors, and Jerry didn't pressure us AT ALL. These guys are super friendly, very informative, and so un-sketchy about everything. I really felt like I was in good hands, and will go back for all of the work I need on my car.
