Our ideal candidates should have the following qualities:
STORE MANAGERS / SERVICE WRITERS:
- Must be a team leader, possessing great customer service skills, communication skills, sales abilities and people management skills.
- Must have basic point of sales computer knowledge and operating skills.
- Must be detail-oriented while being able to multitask
- Must possess a working knowledge of customer service expectations and practices strong business ethics.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance is required.
- High School Diploma/GED or some college education.
- ASE Certification is a major advantage but not required.
TECHNICIAN:
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance is required.
- Great communication skills.
- Must be team-oriented.
- Must have two to five years of mechanical experience, and provide your own tools.
- Must be detail-oriented while being able to multitask.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to perform all of the physical requirements of the technician position, including lifting objects up to sixty pounds.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma/GED or technical/vocational education preferred.
- ASE Certification is a major advantage.
GENERAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN:
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance is required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma/GED or technical/vocational education preferred.
- Must be team-oriented.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the general service position, including lifting objects up to sixty pounds.

What positions are available/hiring?
Automotive Technicians, Automotive and Diesel Mechanics, General Service Automotive Technicians, Service Writers, Store Managers
What level of education is required?
High School graduate or GED. Trade school completion a plus. Military training a plus.
Do I need experience?
Mechanics and Technicians– 3-5 years experience. ASE Certification a plus but not required.
General Service Technicians– Entry level or Trade School
Service Writer– Sales, service industry, customer relations or management background. We will train the right candidates.
Store Manager– 3-5 years in a service, retail, or automotive management position.
Do I need a driver’s license?
Yes, a valid driver’s license must be presented when you are hired.
Do I need auto insurance?
Yes, you must be insurable.
Does City Garage pay for relocation?
This is contingent upon the position and the situation.
DOES THE CITY GARAGE REQUIRE DRUG TESTING OR BACKGROUND CHECKS?
Company does not drug test prior to hiring. Company reserves the right to drug test all employees at any time. Company performs background checks on all employees prior to hiring and semi-annually.

Does City Garage provide training?
Yes. Attending our training classes is mandatory for all employees.
Do I need to own my own tools?
Yes. All mechanics and technicians must provide their own tools.

Uniforms are required by the company and paid for by the employee through payroll deduction.
Smoking allowed in service area?
No, there are designated smoking areas outside of the shop.
